Vulnerable Adult Protection
Arizona’s Vulnerable Adult laws permit a vulnerable adult, or someone acting on their behalf, to bring a suit against a person, company, or institution that is taking advantage of the vulnerable adult.
Vulnerable adults can be abused physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially. A person can also be considered a vulnerable adult without being incapacitated within the meaning of the law (i.e. someone who requires a Guardian). However, abuse of a vulnerable adult can subject the abusing party to civil and criminal liability.
If you suspect that yourself or someone you know is a vulnerable adult and has been abused, please contact an attorney immediately. No one should have to live with that type of ongoing mistreatment. An attorney can help.
