My name is Danielle, or “Dee”, and I’m a paralegal here at Owens & Perkins.
I started my career in the legal field with a part-time role as a file clerk/project specialist/master of administrative trade development, all while still attending high school. After graduating a semester early, I developed a passion for helping others in any way that I was capable of. Since then, I have worked as a file clerk, receptionist, trainer to the “newbie’s”, family law legal assistant, and a family law/civil/appellant/bankruptcy paralegal. My role and passion as a Paralegal is to understand and connect. Having lived and faced those scary and often unknown emotional times, it’s my #1 priority to reassure our clients that I will do whatever I can to help.
In 2015 I became a foster parent overnight to my young niece and nephew. I fostered them for approximately two years and learned the ins and outs of the foster system, the difficulties that foster families face, and the extra difficulties that single foster parents face—all by trial and error. Learning to parent happened suddenly, and caring for those two precious babies came with sacrifice, although I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world. They’re now thriving, have a wonderful life, and I’m proud to have been a part of helping raise those wonderful, smart, kind children.
Outside of the office I love spending time and traveling with my blended family of my biological and bonus daughters. I enjoy adult coloring books, crafts I never finish (life happens!), and researching, problem solving, and helping others.
