Is it Hot Enough For You??

Extreme Heat in PhoenixIf you live in Arizona, that's not even close to being funny anymore. As we've all seen and heard on the news, Arizona is likely to hit 30 consecutive days of temperatures over 110 degrees. It may be "cooling off" in the next few days, but with that will come the monsoons and humidity. Hospitals have seen an increase in the number of people seeking treatment for heat-related illnesses and there have been at least 12 confirmed heat-related deaths in Maricopa County.

Phoenix has 60 hydration stations, 30 cooling centers and 4 respite centers for those needing heat relief.

The National Weather Service has issued guidelines for identifying symptoms of Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stroke.

Back to School Supplies for Teachers!!

Owens and Perkins and their employees purchased and distributed school supplies this month to teachers. The teachers supplied us with their "wish list" and we did our best to provide them with what they need to kick off the school year. We purchased 120 white boards, dry erase markers, pencils, pens, markers, crayons, erasers, glue sticks, notebooks and construction paper. Best of luck to all of the teachers in the valley as they embark on the upcoming school year! It was a pleasure to provide you with some classroom supplies. We're grateful for your dedication to your students and our community!
