Historic Tax Cut

Former Arizona Governor Doug Ducey signed the tax reform in July, 2021, and then in September, 2022, ordered it to be implemented ahead of schedule in 2023. It eliminates the state's income tax scale and implements a flat tax of 2.5%, making it the lowest flat tax in the country. Supporters say this will help all taxpayers.
In the News - Open Containers at Malls
Cheers! Customers can now stroll some outdoor malls with drinks in hand. After a three-year pilot program, people are now allowed to window shop and drink alcohol at select Arizona malls. Bars and restaurants at Tempe Marketplace and Desert Ridge Marketplace are now selling beer, wine and cocktails "to go" to customers wanting to stroll around in specified areas with drinks in hand. The new law allows up to 10 malls statewide to apply for the extended service. Only larger shopping centers with at least 400,000 square feet of retail space - the ones with more extensive pedestrian areas - are eligible.
