Owens & Perkins, Attorneys at Law is pleased to announce that Kris Leonhardt has joined the firm. Ms. Leonhardt received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Indiana University, graduating cum laude in May, 2005. She received her Juris Doctorate from Arizona State University in May, 2008, again graduating cum laude and had the honor of being named a Pedrick Scholarship Recipient. While at ASU, Ms. Leonhardt volunteered for the Justice Project and in the ASU Lodestar Mediation Clinic.
While attending ASU, Ms. Leonhardt had the unique experience of serving as a Court-Appointed Law Clerk in an appellate proceeding for a death row inmate. She also worked for a Forensic Psychology Firm where she assisted in reviewing materials relevant to custody evaluations, competency evaluations and family court interventions.
Ms. Leonhardt was admitted to practice law in Arizona in October 2008 and in Kentucky in May 2010. Since graduating, she has worked extensively in the areas of family law, juvenile law, and criminal law, including two years as an Assistant Arizona Attorney General in the Child and Family Protection Division.
Ms. Leonhardt is a member of the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Arizona. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her family, running, and reading British mystery novels.
