Built for the Divorces That Aren’t Simple

When a divorce involves business interests, executive compensation, multiple properties, or a complex investment picture, the legal work is a different category of difficult. This is the work this firm is built around.

⚖

Asset-First Strategy

Operating businesses, deferred compensation, real estate portfolios, retirement plans — we identify what’s actually at stake before the first filing and build the strategy around protecting it.

👥

Trial-Ready When It Matters

Most high-asset cases settle. But the leverage to settle well comes from being unambiguously prepared to try the case. Our attorneys are trial-tested in Maricopa County and across Arizona.

🔒

Discreet & Responsive

Same-day outreach. Consultations scheduled within days. Communications routed through experienced counsel — not surfaced through staff. Your matter stays confidential at every level.

Practice Depth for Complex Divorces

The kinds of matters Owens & Perkins handles every week. If your situation includes any of the below, you're in the right place.

  • Business interests & operating-company valuations — including coordination with forensic accountants and valuation experts.
  • Real estate portfolios — primary residences, vacation homes, investment properties, commercial holdings.
  • Investment & brokerage accounts — including separate property tracing and commingling analysis.
  • Hidden asset discovery — coordinated with forensic accounting where the financial picture appears incomplete.
  • Executive compensation — stock options, RSUs, deferred comp, carried interest, performance grants.
  • Retirement & pension division — 401(k)s, IRAs, pensions, QDRO preparation and enforcement.
  • Pre- and post-nuptial agreements — drafting, enforcement, and challenges where validity is in dispute.
  • High-conflict custody with significant assets — where the financial complexity and the parenting plan have to be solved together.

The Firm’s Senior Attorney

Meet Michelle J. Perkins, Esq.

Today, Michelle is recognized as one of the most accomplished family law attorneys in Arizona, with particular depth in divorce cases involving significant assets, complex property division, and business valuations. She personally directs the firm's strategic approach across every high-asset matter the firm takes on.
