This year for the holiday season, we participated in the City of Scottsdale Adopt-a-Senior program that provides gifts to low-income seniors in our community. We gifted 10 local seniors with items such as toiletries, clothing, and even an Instant Pot! One of our team members also brought in cat food for a senior with a furry friend.
Ronald McDonald House 2019
The O&P family went to the Ronald McDonald House last night to serve meals to those who live there. They made creamy chicken enchiladas, refried beans and a cherry cobbler cake.
The O&P family had a wonderful time at the Diamondbacks game last Friday thanks to Lisa Jackson and her firm!
Beat The Heat 2019
Over the month of May, the O&P Family participated in a drive for senior citizens in the Scottsdale Community. This drive helped raise money and supplies for seniors to combat the summer heat. The supplies included water, water bottles, food, toiletries, ice packs, fans and more!
The O&P Family got together to go see the amazing Cirque du Soleil show “Amaluna”. It was a breathtaking show that everyone enjoyed!
Feed My Starving Children 2019
Owens and Perkins volunteered for Feed My Starving Children. We packed 203 boxes or 43,848 meals that will be shipped to Thailand, and did an amazing job!!
AZ Dream Kits 2018
Our firm packed “Dream Kits” for foster kids of Arizona. These kits included simple toiletries like shampoo, body wash, toothbrushes as well as toys and blankets. These kits are given to foster kids when they transitions to a new home.
Stand Up for Veterans 2018
In support of our veterans, Attorney Brandon Sander volunteered in the 6th Annual Stand up for Veterans event held on September 22nd, 2018 at Glendale Community College. The event offered an opportunity for the community to come together to offer support and services to our courageous veterans. As a former Marine himself, it was rewarding for Brandon to volunteer and offer his legal assistance to help veterans who have sacrificed to serve our country.
2018 Diaper Drive by Teen Outreach Pregnancy Services
During the month of April our Paralegal Team decided to give back by participating in the second annual Diaper Drive held by TOPS (Teen Outreach Pregnancy Services). Our goal was to collect a minimum of 2,000 diapers and we did it! We ended the month of April with 2,874 diapers and 1,224 wipes to donate to young parents in need!
2018 Soles4Souls Community Outreach Event
Every quarter our office does a Volunteer/Community Outreach event. For the 1 st quarter, the administrative staff collected approximately 100 pairs of shoes for the organization, Soles4Souls. Soles4Souls creates sustainable jobs and provides relief through the distribution of shoes and clothing around the world.
Annual Arizona Standdown 2018
Owens & Perkins supports our troops and veterans! Many veterans in our community are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless with little to no access to legal assistance. Attorney, and former Marine, Brandon Sander volunteered his time to assist homeless and indigent veterans with their family law issues at the annual Arizona Standdown on January 26, 2018.
2017 St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance Turkey Drive
With the help of volunteers at Owens & Perkins, St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance was able to collect a total of 2,100 turkeys and $23,000 on November 18, 2017 for their annual turkey drive, helping many people in need enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving with their families.
Code Red Summer Heat Relief Water Drive
In Arizona, Code Red months occur between May and September when temperatures reach triple digits. Homeless men, women, and children urgently need our help to survive the blistering summer heat. Owens & Perkins’ Code Red water drive collected 2,712 bottles of water and undisclosed financial donations to help out those in need. THANK YOU, ALL for your continued support!!!
Feed My Starving Children
The paralegals from Owens & Perkins volunteered at Feed My Starving Children on Saturday, June 24, 2017. They packed boxes to be sent to El Savador. These boxes give children without proper nutrition access to food resources. Way to go O&P paralegals. Nice job.

Maricopa County Animal Shelters Towel & Blanket Drive
Owens & Perkins Admin Staff held a drive to collect towels and blankets for the Maricopa County Animal Shelters. The drive was very successful. We delivered what we collected to The Barking Dog in Scottsdale on Friday, March 24th where the Maricopa County Animal Shelter representative came to get the items and delivered them to the shelters in need.
Volunteering at the Paiute Neighborhood Center
Attorneys CD Owens and Christa Banfield volunteered at the Paiute Neighborhood Center Legal Clinic on March 14th to give each client basic advice and pointing them in the right direction.
St. Mary’s Food Bank Turkey Drive
O&P is proud to support our local community and those less fortunate by participating in the St. Mary’s Food Bank Turkey drive for the 3rd straight year. In 1967 St. Mary’s was established as the first food bank. It is today one of the largest food banks throughout the nation and has an impact not just in Arizona, but throughout the entire world.
It’s a wonderful event, we all had a great time and the generosity of those donating is always amazing.
Feed My Starving Children
Volunteers from Owens & Perkins went to Feed My Starving Children on October 25, 2016. Our group packed 31 boxes (more than last year’s 28). The total number of volunteers packed 72 boxes (see image). The boxes were sent to the Philippines to give hope to the children without proper nutrition and access to food resources.
Mother's Day Events
On May 6, 2016, the Owens & Perkins staff made 17 vases of flowers and gift bags for three Maggie’s Place homes and delivered them in time for Mother’s Day. Maggie’s Place provides houses of hospitality and ongoing support to help pregnant and parenting women.
The firm also made a vase of flowers and special gift basket for the sole female (and mother) firefighter at Scottsdale’s Fire Station #2 to thank for her service.

Hope & A Future AZ
On December 19, 2015, the Owens & Perkins staff donated 38 gifts to Hope & A Future AZ's Christmas Celebration for the foster children who have Royal Family Kids' Camp or Teen Reach Adventure Camp in Arizona.
St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance Super Saturday Turkey Drive
Owens & Perkins volunteers helped St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance collect a total of 2,256 turkeys and $19,291.16 in financial contributions during their Super Saturday Turkey Drive on November 21, 2015. St. Mary's served 12,473 clients over 2.5 days; we helped make it a record-breaking drive!
AZ Humane Society Clothing Drive
During the week of September 14, 2015, Owens & Perkins had their first clothing drive to benefit the Arizona Humane Society. All employees were asked to bring in clothing and household item donations. We were able to bring in 28 bags of clothing and items to help raise money for the Humane Society!
Wills for Heros
Attorney Brian Winter was fortunate enough to participate in the Wills for Heroes program and work with local firefighters to prepare their estate planning documents.
Feed My Starving Children
Owens & Perkins volunteered, for the second year in a row, at Feed My Starving Children this past Saturday. Owens & Perkins personally packed 28 boxes of food which is 11 more boxes than last year! Each box contained 216 meals. That is a total of 6,048 meals packed by Owens & Perkins.
Arizona Gives Day
In honor of Arizona Gives Day, Owens & Perkins, PC has donated to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Arizona Chapter.
Box-ets for the Homeless
Owens & Perkins made Box-ets for the homeless. Our team packed 43 shoe boxes with shampoo, conditioner, soap, razors, socks, and other toiletry items. These boxes will be donated to various homeless agencies or shelters across the valley.
Super Saturday Turkey Drive
On Saturday, November 22, 2014, St. Mary Food Bank Alliance held its eighth annual Super Saturday Turkey Drive at Food Bank locations in Phoenix and Surprise, as well as 15 Albertsons locations around the Valley and Flagstaff in hopes of meeting what is anticipated to be an unprecedented need this holiday season. Last year, through the generosity of businesses and individuals, St. Mary's holiday food box distribution provided meals for an estimated over 130,000 Arizonans battling with hunger.
Feed My Starving Children Owens & Perkins volunteered at Feed My Starving Children yesterday. Owens & Perkins personally packed 17 boxes of food which contained 3,675 meals!!! Our boxes will be going to children in the Philippians.
Lawyers on Call On Tuesday, April 8, 2014, Kris Leonhardt was one of ten attorneys who volunteered for Lawyers on Call. Lawyers on Call is a public service program hosted by the State Bar of Arizona, azcentral.com and Channel 12 News, where people can call in and receive free legal advice regarding specified topics.
Andre House Owens & Perkins volunteered at the Andre House of Hospitality of Arizona. We enjoyed getting involved with the community and were amazed to how much work goes into preparing these nightly meals. The soup line was opened for just one hour; however, within that short amount of time, we provided over 600 meals each night. At the end of the night, we swept and mopped the dining room, washed the dishes, and broke down the dining room stacking chairs and moving tables.
Susan G. Komen – Race for the Cure This was the second year that Owens & Perkins participated in the Race for the Cure. We enjoyed being a part of the thousands of people there supporting this amazing cause.
Susan G. Komen – Race for the Cure usan G. Komen is the only organization that addresses breast cancer on multiple fronts such as research, community health, global outreach and public policy initiatives in order to make the biggest impact on this disease.
